About My Passion

I have always found the ability to create another human life extremely fascinating. As a child, I wanted to learn more about my own body and how it works and knew that I wanted to be where I am now, in obstetrics and gynecology. Although, as a child I wanted to be an OB/Gyn. My path led me to nursing with the intention of still going to medical school eventually, but I fell in LOVE with nursing and the teaching and care that nurses give. After working as a nurse in labor and delivery and in outpatient settings, I could not shake my dream of becoming a provider and managing care on my own terms, so I went back to school, and here I am now an OB NP.

About This Blog

There is only so much time that you get with each patient experience; it’s a little unfair honestly to both the patient and the provider. I learn so much from my patients about their lives, what frustrates them with their health, or what may not have been taught. I am lucky to work with a population where my patients are so open to learning and being a part of their care. And with so many falsehoods out there, I wanted to create an open space that is coming from someone who truly wants to help you, educate you, and advocate for you. My hope is that this blog hits all ages. I hear so much from teens about how certain topics are brushed by with no real explanation or understanding. I hear from adults about not learning how to track periods, what periods are considered normal or abnormal. And my favorite topic…pregnancy which comes with many, many questions.

You should feel empowered in your body.
